台北市這兩天接連發生內湖殺童案與新北投捷運傷警案，對此，台北市長柯文哲今天(29日)下午出席里長座談會時，拜託里長們有效運用市府提供的資源，打造里民之間的友善關係，透過鄰里制度協助孤僻的人建立正常的社會網絡。他並呼籲大眾冷靜看待這些社會事件，避免過度渲染，他也擔心媒體一直報導會造成模仿效果。
柯文哲表示，里長身在第一線，比較清楚整個里民的狀況。他認為人與人的安定需要靠社會去維持，無法全部依靠警察或社工處理，正因為如此，台北市政府鼓勵設立區民活動中心、里民活動中心等，就是要將民眾從家中拉出來，互相認識、講話，透過鄰里制度去了解彼此，讓整天待在家裡、比較孤僻的人能夠有比較正常的社會網絡。
